Mohawk Valley Chorus 2026 classics concert – “Songs of Hope and Freedom”
Come enjoy an afternoon of beautiful American songs as performed by the Mohawk Valley Chorus! David M. Rossi directs MVC in “Songs of Hope and Freedom”; Luanne Hawk is our accompanist.
Selections include “When Jesus Wept,” an American hymn written in the 1770s; Linda Speen Spevack’s arrangements of the folk song “Shenandoah” and the traditional spiritual “Deep River”; the Julia Ward Howe/William Steffe classic “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”; “The Folded Flag” by Joseph F. Martin; and Roland Carter’s arrangement of the civil rights anthem “Lift Every Voice and Sing” (words by James Weldon Johnson; music by J. Rosamond Johnson).
Concert date is Sunday, March 15, 2026 at 3 pm, at St. Ann’s Episcopal Church in Amsterdam.
Tickets are $20 general admission; $15 for senior citizens/students; and free for children age 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance from any chorus member.
