MILLIONS of pumpkins are sent to landfills.
Let’s help divert pumpkins and have fun doing it.

“Smash it, Don’t Trash it”
Smash your own pumpkins or drop them off. Smash your pumpkin with a wooden maul, see if you can hit the spiked target, or go to town chopping them to pieces.

We hope to have a local farm collect the pumpkins that have not been smashed to feed their animals.
Jack O’lanterns and other organic decorations will be composted by Grow Amsterdam’s Compost Works initiative by composting your pumpkins you are keeping organic waste out of the landfills, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and creating compost, a natural fertilizer, for the community gardens in Amsterdam.
Bring your straw bales and corn stalks too!
