5-Miler Sunday Hike

Feb. 25^th at 1pm. We’ll take a 5-Miler from the Schoharie Crossing Visitor Center/Museum in Fort Hunter along the old Erie Canal towpath to Port Jackson, the Southside of Amsterdam.  This point A to point B hike will traverse the old towpath along the canal.  We’ll have a rest break around 2.5 miles at Yankee Hill Lock before connecting onto the Friends of Schoharie Crossing Eagle Trail that meanders along the Mohawk River past the dam at Lock E11 and on into South Amsterdam.  The end point is the Empire State Trail parking area near Lorenzo’s.  We highly recommend staging a vehicle there or arranging for a pickup.

Please dress for the weather conditions, warm boots are highly recommended and bring along water and small light snacks.
